The Directorate General for Higher Education (DGES), through the Portuguese ENIC/NARIC Centre, is participating in an European project, SCAN-D - Samples & Copies of Academic National Diplomas, co funded under Action 3 of Erasmus+ Programme.
This project has a duration of 18 months and is coordinated by the Italian ENIC/NARIC Centre in partnership with the ENIC/NARIC centers of Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Latvia, Lithuania, Netherlands, Slovenia, Spain, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Israel and New Zealand.
The main objective of the project is to collect examples of national diplomas and certificates of degrees issued by higher education institutions in the 15 participating countries in order to create a database which will be available for consultation by all centers of the ENIC/NARIC Network. This database will be an asset to the transparency of the recognition process and will facilitate the work of everyone who deals with foreign qualifications, including higher education institutions.
It is also an important tool to minimize fraud and ensure greater consistency in the recognition procedures.
