Erasmus+

The ERASMUS + Programme (2014-2020), starting on 1st January of 2014, is the new EU Programme for Education, Training, Youth and Sport that aims to bring together various initiatives which were previously covered by other existing Programmes such as Lifelong Learning Programme, Youth in Action, Erasmus Mundus, Tempus, Alfa and Edulink, as well as activities in the field of Sport, the new area of European competence.

Erasmus + is a single Programme that results in an integrated and simplified structure, with a €14.7 billion budget from 2014 to 2020,  which represents an increase of 40%, in comparison with the last 7 years of funding for this areas, and it clearly reflects the EU commitment to invest more in the field of education, training, youth and sport.

More than 4 million people will benefit and receive support to study, train, work or volunteer abroad, including 2 million higher education students.

The call for proposals is currently open for the 3 key actions of the new Programme, with a budget of €1.8 billion for 2014:

  • Key Action 1 — Learning mobility of individuals
  • Key Action 2 — Cooperation for innovation and the exchange of good practices
  • Key Action 3 — Support for policy reform
